Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Locksmiths New Jersey is a New Jersey locksmith information and service-request website covering all 21 New Jersey counties. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Locksmiths New Jersey. This site does not perform locksmith work itself.

The most important thing to know before you read the rest: when you send a service request through our form, that request is transmitted to a licensed third-party New Jersey locksmith so they can respond to you directly. Section 4 spells that out.

2. What We Collect

We collect two things, and nothing else:

  • What you type into the service request form: your name, your phone number, the town you are in, the type of locksmith work you need, and whatever description you choose to add.
  • Standard web server logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the referring page. These are generated automatically by the hosting platform for every visitor to every website, and we read them only in aggregate.

We do not collect payment information. No payment is taken on this website. We do not ask for an address, a date of birth, or any government ID number, and you should not put that information into the form.

3. How We Use It

  • To pass your service request to a licensed New Jersey locksmith who can respond to it.
  • To reply to a question you sent us through the form.
  • To keep the website working and to see in aggregate which pages people find useful.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not add you to a marketing list. We do not send you promotional email.

4. Who Receives Your Service Request

This is the part most privacy policies bury, so here it is plainly. A service request you submit through the form on this site is transmitted to a licensed third-party New Jersey locksmith so that they can contact you and help with the job. That locksmith receives the details you entered: your name, your phone number, your town, and the description of what you need.

Once your details reach that locksmith, their own privacy practices apply to how they handle them. If that matters to you, ask them directly before you agree to any work.

Beyond that, your information is shared only in these limited cases:

  • Form delivery and hosting providers: the third-party services that deliver the form submission and host the website process your data on our behalf in order to make the form work.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where disclosure is needed to protect someone's safety.
  • Business transfer: if this website changes hands, existing records may transfer with it, under the same protections described here.

5. How Long We Keep It

Service request records are kept for up to two years so that a follow-up question or a dispute can be traced back to the original request. Web server logs are kept for no more than 90 days before being deleted or anonymized. You can ask us to delete your request record sooner, and we will.

6. Your Rights

Under New Jersey and federal consumer protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your service request record.
  • Ask us not to pass a request on, though that means no locksmith can respond to it.

To exercise any of these, send a message through the contact form and say what you want done. Note that we cannot delete a record from the systems of a locksmith who already received it. That request goes to them.

7. Data Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. Access to submitted requests is limited to the people who need it to route and answer them.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you as New Jersey law requires.

8. Cookies and Analytics

No analytics platform is installed on this website at present. There is no Google Analytics tag, no advertising pixel, and no cross-site tracking cookie here today.

If we add an analytics tool later, we will update this section and this page's revision date before it goes live, and any tool we add will be configured to measure aggregate traffic rather than identify individual visitors.

9. Children's Privacy

This site is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

When this policy changes, we update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

11. Contact Us About Privacy

Questions about this policy, or about the information we hold, go through the contact form. Write "privacy" in the message so it gets routed correctly rather than treated as a service request.
